Ok I’m pretty excited about today’s topic over at Molly & Aly’s 12 Days of Christmas

Favorite Christmas Songs! I made a great “Pop Christmas” CD a few years ago and this is the perfect time to share it! There’s a few guilty pleasures mixed in here so please don’t judge me for my 10-year old girl music taste!

Up on the Housetop: The Jackson 5
Happy Holidays: NSYNC
I Wish Everyday could be like Christmas: Bon Jovi
Joy to the World: Whitney Houston
Little Drummer Boy: Jessica & Ashlee Simpson
Oh Holy Night: Christina Aguilera
The Christmas Song: Dave Matthew Band
Silent Night: Boyz II Men
– 8 Days of Christmas: Destiny’s Child
My Only Wish this Year: Britney Spears

If you’re looking to buy an entire cd; here are the ones I’d recommend splurging on:

Christina Aguilera: My Kind of Christmas

Mariah Carey: Christmas Album
And…………..this bad boy just made it’s way into my iTunes account.
Again; don’t be a hater. Those boys (girls?) are musical geniuses. It’s playing in my cube right now at work.
And I love it.
Happy Holidays everyone!

Let me tell you what makes my day. Getting home at 9pm tonight and realizing that my husband had dvr’d the Country Music Association awards that were on! He clearly understands my love for award shows/country music. Happy wife = happy husband. Everybody wins.

I saw that for the biliionth year in a row, Carrie Underwood was hosting with Brad Paisley. It got me thinking about little Miss Carrie…..and how I’m often towards in my feelings for her. She’s right up there with movies on Lifetime, music by Hanson, and the Spice Girls. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it.

Remember this Carrie?

In her American Idol days, I loved her. I wanted a country star to win and thought she was amazing each week.

Here’s the thing. Carrie seems like that prom queen that’s just too squeaky-clean/good to be true. It’s like when Quinn got pregnant on Glee. I loved it because it made her real. Isn’t it awful that you might not like an artist because she’s too good to be true? Are we going to see her pull a Lohan and check herself in someday?

I sure hope not.

My vote?

What do you all think?

Movie Review: Eclipse

Let me just put it out there. I don’t care if I was the oldest women in the audience at the 3rd Twilight movie this week. I also don’t care that I let out an audibly loud gasp the first time Jacob Black appeared without his shirt. I have embraced my cougar status and aknowledge that this is a slightly shameful obsession of mine.

I spent Wednesday evening elbowing my way through hoards of screaming tweens to feast my eyes on this bad boy:

I should probably be talking about the movie now………………sorry.
Wednesday some other members of the cougar den got together for some appetizers, wine, and tween cinema. I must say; this installment is BY FAR the best of the three films.
The acting is still sub-par in my book. Kristin Stewart makes my skin crawl. She seems super uncomfortable in her own skin; I know that’s supposed to be Bella’s character, but come on. Stop stammering and making me so nuts. I’ve gotta say Taylor Lautner has come along way, he used to be SUPER awkward and I didn’t sense much chemistry between him and Kristin Stewart. Something happened since the last movie (maybe that 30lbs of muscle he gained……..) because they were ON FIRE this movie.

I also thought the special effects were much cooler. You can definitley tell it’s computer-animated, but it’s gotten much better since the first few. The flying/chasing/werewolf effects had greatly improved. I also have to say, my inner psycho-path really enjoyed the more intense fight scenes. They were actually scary at some points! There’s one part where the crazy newborn vampires are coming out of the water that freaked me right out.

As far as teen cinema goes; this one is a winner. Not for everyone, but right up my alley. I also heard that “Breaking Dawn” will be broken into two parts; it’s my personal favorite so I’m pretty pumped to see them wrap it all up.

Anyone else heading out to see it? Brave enough to join the midnight showing? Team Jacob all the way!

Attention all Pop Fans!

It’s not exactly a secret that I love ALL things pop-culture. One of my coworkers showed me a fantastic new mash-up of all my favorites. You’ll see Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Usher, Jason DeRulo, Rhianna, and some random british chicks that rule. Hope this gets you through your Friday and pumps you up for the weekend!

Prepare for massive amounts of chair-wiggling, booty-shaking to occur. Go head girl!
